RDNZ makes submission on the Accessibility for New Zealanders Bill
Rare Disorders NZ made a submission on the Accessibility for New Zealanders Bill expressing concern that the current bill will not remove barriers or deliver real progress for disabled people.
We encourage anyone with an interest in this area to make a submission by 7 November 2022. To find step by step instructions on how to make a submission, as well as a template that you can use click here.
Rare Disorders NZ also supports a petition by Access Matters Aotearoa who are calling for the Government to broaden the scope of the Accessibility for New Zealanders Bill to include:
- standards
- a regulator
- a barrier notification system
- a dispute resolution process to remove access barriers.
