Sharron is a Paediatric Neuromuscular Nurse Specialist with over eight years of dedicated experience supporting children and young people living with complex neuromuscular conditions in the North Island of New Zealand. She provides holistic, family-centred care, coordinating multidisciplinary support across hospital, community, and educational settings.

Sharron’s expertise includes clinical assessment, symptom management, care planning, and guiding families through the challenges of progressive conditions. Sharron is passionate about advocacy and improving quality of life, ensuring that children and their families are empowered with knowledge, resources, and compassionate care.

Sharron works closely with national and international networks to ensure best practice in neuromuscular care and has a particular interest in transition to adult services and advancing family education.

Rare Disorders NZ is the collective voice of all people living with a rare disorder and their whānau. Our rare collective is made up of more than 150 disorder-specific support groups.

Our work is informed by the issues important to our collective. We work together to improve healthcare and wellbeing for everyone living with a rare health condition in New Zealand.
