The Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge – New Zealand’s greatest cycling event – is all go again for November this year - celebrating its 47th running on Saturday 29 November 2025.
With a philosophy of inclusion, the Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge is excited to again be a multi-charity event and offers a wide variety of options to get on your bike and be part of the annual pilgrimage to one of New Zealand’s longest and most established events.
All the favourite categories are on offer this year including the iconic Shimano Round The Lake (approx. 160km), the new Great Lake 100 (approx. 100km), the Independent Traffic Control Length Of The Lake (approx. 55km) and the 2 lap Enduro (approx. 320km), as well as the popular Gravel Grind (approx. 83km) using local MTB tracks, gravel roads, farm tracks, and tar sealed roads, along with the Tineli Huka Hundy (approx. 100km), Huka Steamer (approx. 60km) and Huka Teaser (approx. 30km) MTB events and the 16km Lakesider recreational ride.
Whether you’re a roadie, a mountain biker, a gravel junkie or just looking for a recreational ride, there’s something that’ll tick the box for you.
