Rare Disorders NZ has made a submission to the Health and Disability Commissioner Advocacy
draft guidelines.

We believe the guidelines could be strengthened for the rare disorder community in the following ways:

1) Explicitly include rare disorders as a population that will be routinely considered

2) Clarity around the meaning of advocacy

3) Specify how information is monitored and used to improve services

4) Evaluation mechanisms need to be included in the guidelines
