Office Administrator

Part time (16 hours/week, in office)

Te-Whanganui-A-Tara / Wellington, Newtown Based
16 hours over three days per week, Monday - Thursday

We're looking for that special person who enjoys making things run smoothly in the office and supports other team members in their roles.

Rare Disorders New Zealand (RDNZ) seeks a dynamic Office Administrator, to help keep our office humming and support our energetic staff to make a difference for persons impacted by genetic, undiagnosed and uncommon (rare) conditions.

RDNZ is a progressive and inclusive charity which champions the needs of those affected by rare disorders through support and advocacy. We act as a central liaison body for support networks, information on rare disorders, and awareness promotion. Our collective includes over 150 different rare disorder support groups, their whānau and caregivers, and we are always looking at ways we can expand and strengthen these connections and partnerships.

Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role

As our Office Administrator, you will complete office management tasks and duties ranging from data entry, helping with event planning, updating the website and executive support for our Chief Executive. This role will require someone who can solve problems and is self-motivated, with great attention to detail and a passion for organising, planning, learning and making the office tick along.

You will be part of a tight-knit and supportive team and will have the full support of the team and CE to ensure you can do the best job possible.

To be considered for this role you need the following skills:

  • Strong experience in previous administration roles
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • A positive can do attitude and great work ethic
  • Previous experience with minute taking, health & safety procedures or document management may be an advantage
  • Experience, or interest in, community equity, advocacy and outreach;
  • An understanding of, or interest in, mahi of Rare Disorders NZ
  • Awareness of Te Tiriti and an understanding of its principles
