We were really excited to present at a professional development session with the Ministry of Social Development’s Regional Health and Disability Advisors this week, letting them know about Rare Disorders NZ and some of the challenges and barriers people living with rare disorders face when accessing support from Work and Income.

This was a great first step towards improving the experience people living with rare disorders have with Work and Income.

We are looking forward to continuing to work together with the Ministry of Social Development to get some more resources for our community to help everyone understand the support they are entitled to and how to access it.

If there is a Work and Income topic you think would be great to cover in a Q and A session or video for our website, let us know by contacting enquiries@raredisorders.org.nz.
