Rare Disorders New Zealand (RDNZ) seeks a dynamic Finance and Office Administrator, to help keep our office humming and support our energetic staff to make a difference for people impacted by genetic, undiagnosed and uncommon (rare) conditions.

Mō mātou - About us
RDNZ is a progressive and inclusive charity which champions the needs of those affected by rare disorders through support and advocacy. We act as a central liaison body for support networks, information on rare disorders, research networks, advocacy and awareness. Our collective includes over 150 different rare disorder support groups, their whānau and caregivers, and we are always looking at ways we can expand and strengthen these connections and partnerships.

Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role
As our Finance and Office Administrator, you will be responsible for a range of office management tasks and duties including but not limited to accounts administration, data entry, minute taking, event planning and executive support for our Chief Executive. This role will require someone with initiative who is flexible, self-motivated, with great attention to detail and a passion for organising, planning and making offices tick along.

You will be part of a tight-knit and supportive team and will have the full support of the team and CE to ensure you can do the best job possible. This is a 20 hours / week office-based role paid at $29-$31 / hour.

To be considered for this role you need the following skills:

  • Strong experience in previous administration roles
  • Proficiency with Xero or similar accounting packages
  • Competency in applying the principles of accrual accounting
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong experience with contemporary office software
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • A positive can-do attitude and great work ethic
  • Previous experience with minute taking
  • Experience, or interest in, community equity, advocacy and outreach
  • An understanding of, or interest in, mahi of Rare Disorders NZ
  • Awareness of Te Tiriti and an understanding of its principles
